Originally published in 1711 , Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto in A Minor, Op. 3 No. 6 is the sixth concerto in the L'estro armonico collection. This arrangement prominently features a xylophone soloist supported by marimba quartet. This five player arrangement of the Allegro movement highlights virtuoso 2-mallet performance from all players and only requires one 5.0 octave marimba. Appropriate for the advanced high school ensemble or collegiate keyboard percussion ensemble, this short arrangement is a high energy piece which is certain to excite the audience and showcase writing typical in the baroque style.
